Dorothy Marie Simpson

Dorothy Marie Simpson, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on August 1, 1916, in Chandler, Oklahoma, and departed this life on July 19, 2007, in Meeker, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years. Dorothy was the daughter of James Milton and Martha Mabel Gaines Waller. She graduated from Chandler High School in 1935. Dorothy married Otto Simpson in Chandler, Oklahoma, December 21, 1938. She operated Farmers Union Insurance Agency in Chandler for many years. She was a member and officer of Chandler Historical Society, member of DAR, Chandler Round-up Club, county extension clubs, and several social clubs. Her parents, husband, one son, Donald Nickelson; four brothers, Alfred Waller; Harold Waller; Charles Waller; and John Waller; five sisters, Mae Southwood; Ethel Wilson; Nettie Lee Owens; Opal Waller; Doris Fair; two grandchildren, Janet; and Dean; preceded Dorothy in death. Survivors include, One son, Otto Eugene Simpson of Barnsdall, OK, Three daughters & sons-in-law, Elaine & Jimmie Pruitt of Meeker, OK, Janice & James Gornick, Sr. of Kansas, Sarah & Ambrose Engel of Meeker, OK, Seven grandchildren, Numerous great-grandchildren, Other relatives and many friends.
