Dorothy Jean Stephens, a long time resident of Prague, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at the age of 91. Dorothy was born in Manitou, Oklahoma on June 5, 1928. She was the daughter of Howell Jeptha "HJ" and Elzy Lomeda (Hogue) Adams. Dorothy was known for her skills in the kitchen. She was an excellent cook and took great joy in feeding others. Throughout her life, she fed anyone who wanted or needed a meal. She owned multiple restaurants of her own. She also enjoyed spending time creating Indian Beadwork and writing poetry. She even had a large unpublished book of poems that she had written over her 91 years. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; longtime companion, Ronnie Franklin and three brothers, Elmer "Stoney" Adams, Jay Adams and Dwain Adams as well as grandson, Brent Weathers. She is survived by her children, Donna Beckwith of Shawnee, Mike Weathers of Checotah, Terry Weathers and wife Tammy of Bethel Acres, Kenneth Weathers of Shawnee, Dallas Stephens and Connie Rhodd of Davenport and Ronnie Stephens and Christy Lyons of Prague. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grand children and many other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM. Services will be held at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague, Oklahoma.
