Dorothy "Dot" L. Walter

October 19, 1926 — April 5, 2015

Dorothy Walter, lovingly known to friends and family as 'Dot', went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Dot was born on October 19, 1926, in Harrisburg, PA to Henry and Agnes (Witman) Turns. Dot married Richard L. Walter on March 31, 1946. The family relocated to Oklahoma in January, 1966. Dot worked at Tinker AFB and was a member of the Del City Chapter #496 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, travelling, family gatherings and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard, two brothers, Lester Turns and Henry Turns, Jr., and three sisters, Jane Via, Sara Plouse & Anna Mae Metzger. She is survived by a daughter, Sara Mayko and husband, Glenn, of Harrah, OK; granddaughter, Christine Sneden & Rick Seebeck of Harrah, OK; grandsons, John R. Sneden and wife Shauna of Oklahoma City, OK, Capt. Joseph A. Amico and wife, Capt. Jessica Amico of Richmond Hills, GA; 2 great granddaughters, Sabrina Sneden and Sydney Seebeck; 2 great grandsons, Richard Seebeck and John H. Sneden. She is also survived by a sister, Miriam Turns of Hummelstown, PA; many nieces and nephews and longtime companion, LeRoy Spahr of Midwest City, OK. The family wishes to thank Pastor Lynne O'Shea of St. Mark Lutheran Church and Hospice Quality Care for all of the loving care and comfort to us during a very trying time. Donations may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 7501 E. Reno Ave, Midwest City, OK 73110 and/or the 'Bell Childers Foundation' in memory of Dorothy Walter, mail to: Hospice Quality Care, 921 S. Sooner Road, Oklahoma City, OK 73110. The family will greet friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 10, at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, 2039 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, OK. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 11, 2015, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 7501 E. Reno Ave., Midwest City, OK. Interment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
