Dorothea Anita (Riley) Thomas

Dorothea Anita Thomas was born on February 6, 1928, in Weleetka, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 83. Dorothea, the daughter of Orville Howard and Euna Mae (Davis) Riley, was a long-time resident of Prague. She married John Preston Thomas on July 10, 1943 in Seminole, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2006. Dorothea was the administrator of Parkland Manor for 28 years. She was a member of the Prague United Methodist Church where she was active in the UMW, and the choir. Dorothea was an enthusiastic supporter of Prague Schools sporting events, particularly those involving her grandchildren. Her parents also preceded Dorothea in death. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, John Preston 'Jake' Thomas, III, of Austin, TX, Glendon and Donna Thomas of Lawton; daughter, Kim Beachler of Prague; grandchildren, Jason and Susan Thomas of San Antonio, Jennifer and Ken Edwards of Shawnee, Courtney and Chad Brown of Oklahoma City, Heather Atkins of Poteau, Hilary Waltonbaugh of Prague, Hunter Spears of Prague, Dakota Beachler of Prague, great-grandchildren, Makynna Edwards, Chasney Brown, Courd Brown, Riley Jo Waltonbaugh, Rhyan Waltonbaugh, and Rhyder Mendoza; brother-in-law:Bob Thomas and his wife, Idanell, of Hope, AR. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 10:00 AM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Scott Keneda officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
