Doris Jean Corcorran

Doris Jean Tomlinson Corcorran (Jean) born August 14, 1924, in Bee, OK, to Herk & Maurine Tomlinson. Jean peacefully went to the Lord, December 12, 2010. Jean retired from 25 plus years in the nutritional department at Midwest Regional Hospital. She was a charter member of Choctaw Road Baptist Church. She was actively involved in every aspect of church ministry possible. She helped prepare thousands of meals and was always there to lend a helping hand. She truly enjoyed all the activities & ministries her seniors Sunday School class took on. One of her passions was making the quilts to be donated to the babies and elderly. Jean was married for 62 years to Ray Corcorran and for 50 plus years they made Choctaw, Oklahoma their home. They shared a special love story in that the two Oklahomans with the same birthday met on a blind date in California after WW II. They raised 4 children, Tommy Corcorran of Jacksonville, FL, Kathie Keeling of Moore, OK, Barry & wife, Maureen Corcorran of Midwest City, OK & Janell Corcorran of Yukon, OK. She also leaves 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and one sister, Nelda Hall of Granberry, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray and two brothers, Mack & John Tomlinson. Memorials may be made to Choctaw Road Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Wednesday, December 15th at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, 2039 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, OK. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Choctaw Road Baptist Church, with Rev. Rick Sowell officiating. Interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
