Long time Stroud resident Doris Jean Beltz was born in Hunter, Oklahoma on May 16, 1919 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the age of 97. Doris was the daughter of Bert and Lydia (Loundsbury) Wilson. Doris was a long time resident of Stroud since 1944, a homemaker and artist in both of her decorating skills through the bakery, and through her oil and water color portraits and landscape painting. She enjoyed quilting, and was a fromer member of the Grndma's Trunk Antique Club. She was well known for her special molded sugar decorated Easter Eggs enjoyed each year by children and adults alike. She grauated from Hunter High School in 1937. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stroud. Doris and her husband owned and operated the Stroud Bakery until they retired in 1984. Doris married Delbert Ray Beltz in Covington, OK on May 28, 1938. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Danny Beltz, one daughter, Diana Jean (Beltz) Miltimore, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include, one daughter, Deloris Green and husband David of Leakesville, MS, four grandchildren, Vicky Pogue Gunning & husband, Michael of Flower Mound, TX, Thomas Pogue & wife Tonya, Yukon, OK, Cathy Kitano & husband, David of Broken Arrow, OK, and Cindy Baker & husband, Pat McMichael of Broken Arrow, OK, five great grandchildren, Ryan Gunning of Flower Mound, TX, Anna Pogue & Kaileigh Pogue of Yukon, OK., Bryan Pogue of Ada, OK., Tyler Kitano of Dixon California, and Jamie Kitano of San Francisco,California, other relatives and many friends. Graveside service will be held at the Stroud Cemetery on Tuesday, March 21. 2017 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Joe Molencupp officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud. In lieu of flowers make donation to the First United Methodist Church, Stroud, OK.
