Doris Imogene Johnson Duncan was born on March 24, 1924, in Seminole County, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 84. Doris, the daughter of Robert and Eldora Jane Wallis Johnson, was a resident of Lincoln County. She graduated from Prague High School with the class of 1942. She married Kenneth Loyd Duncan on October 17, 1942 in Prague. In 1945, they established Duncan Dairy, selling bottled milk door-to-door. After they sold the dairy in 1969, they continued to farm and raise cattle. Doris and Kenneth were instrumental in establishing the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department. Kenneth preceded Doris in death on July 29, 1997. Doris was also a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Prague where she taught Sunday School. Her parents and two sisters also preceded Doris in death. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Phyllis Duncan of Chandler; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Henry Mayfield, Jr., of Paden, Mary and Joseph F. Johnson of Beavercreek, OH, Susie and Gary Smith of Prague; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert D. and Billie Johnson of Prague, Larry and Tina Johnson of Prague; sister, Hazel and Hershel McDaniel of Seminole; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 10:00 AM, at the First Christian Church in Prague with Rev. Bob Duncan and Pastor Susan Payne officiating.
