Doris Evelyn Fanning

Doris Evelyn Fanning was born on May 19, 1921, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, August 16, 2010, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 89. Evelyn, the daughter of William Edgar and Alta May (Shoemake) Baker, was a long-time resident of Prague. She married Elven Acey Fanning on August 7, 1937, in Donnely, Idaho. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2001. Evelyn was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Her parents, two brothers, three sisters, and one grandson, Kevin Fanning, also preceded Evelyn in death. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Edgar Fanning of Prague, Acey, Jr. and Sharon Fanning of Mapleton, Iowa, Glenn Fanning of Prague; daughter, Gerry Birch of Rio Vista, CA; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM, at the Prague Cemetery with Rev. Starland Davis officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
