Lifelong Prague resident, Donnie Lee Roy Bartosh passed away in Oklahoma City, on March 2, 2017. Lee Roy was born in Prague’s early day Rollins Hospital, on February 22, 1942, to parents, Ernest and Marie (Obsivac) Bartosh. A devoted husband, Lee Roy is survived by his wife of 45 years, Peggy J. (Harrison) Bartosh. His surviving siblings are David D. and wife, Paula Bartosh, of Prague, Carl Leon Bartosh of Prague, Maria C. King, of Kansas City, MO, and Marguerita A. Warren, of Prague. Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother, Ernest M. Bartosh and his nephews, Keith Bartosh and Joel Bartosh. Beginning his education at Holy Child Catholic School, Lee Roy graduated from Prague High School in 1961. From early childhood, Lee Roy had interest and skills in mechanical and electronic endeavors. As a young teenager he developed business skills in repairing televisions, a new thing at that time, lawnmowers and motorcycles for families in Prague. He held a General Ham Radio License, K5YFH. At the age of 20 years, he opened the first Oklahoma Radio Shack. A journeyman electrician, Lee Roy worked on robotics for General Motors in Oklahoma City, where he retired, with 29 years of service, in 2006. Lee Roy was the owner of Bartosh Electric Motor Center, in Prague, for 40 plus years. He provided Prague and the surrounding communities with service and sales of pumps and electric motors. Lee Roy was an avid collector of antique tractors and implements. He especially enjoyed attending tractor shows and auctions. Lee Roy was a pioneer conservationist, who worked for a clean environment and provided a sanctuary on his properties for wildlife. Along with his family; he collected tons of trash, riding along on his John Deere Gator, and maintained the Highway Right of Ways near Bartosh Creek, west of Prague. Lee Roy served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserve 95th Division at Shawnee for 8 years. He was honorably discharged in December 1969, with the rank of sergeant. His basic training and summer maneuvers were at Ft. Polk, LA during the Vietnam War era. During his military service he used his Army pay to purchase the Adams Farm which is his present home. A Celebration of Life service was held on March 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Mike Haines and Father Long Phan officiating. Interment followed at Prague Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service.
