Donald Ray Sheckels

Donald Ray Sheckels was born on January 10, 1933, in Oklahoma City, and departed this life on Friday, March 30, 2018, in Paden, Oklahoma, at the age of 85. Donald, the son of Johnathon L. and Francis Rose (Dickinson) Sheckels, was a resident of Paden. He married Joan Moses on May 14, 1952, in Dallas, Texas. Donald served in the Army. He was a retired iron worker for Local #48 out of Oklahoma City and a 32nd degree Mason. Donald enjoyed farming, taking care of his cows and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rhondo Dewayne Sheckels and three brothers. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Joan Sheckels of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Craig Cunningham; daughter, Carolyn Fite; son and daughter-in-law, David and Deborah Sheckels; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and many other family and friends. Donald’s family would like to express a special thank you to Kenny Maddox for all of his assistance. Arrangements were entrusted to Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
