Don Paul Fondren

Don Paul Fondren was born on December 15, 1941 in Frederick, Oklahoma. He departed this life on October 18, 2020 at his home in Chandler, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years. Don was the son of Ernest Ray Fondren and Norma Clare (Huffer) Fondren. He grew up in Tipton, Oklahoma. Don attended OSU, then began his career of 25 years with OG&E. In 1964, he married Saloma Joyce Camp in Oklahoma City. They moved to Chandler in 1974 where they raised their 5 children. Don was a devoted member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. He was humble, yet had a very strong faith in God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. But his greatest pride and joy was his family. Don was a strong, decent, caring person with a giving heart. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Don is preceded in death by his father Ernest Ray Fondren and Lona Lorraine Fondren and his mother Norma Clare (Huffer) Fondren, his daughter-in-law Jara Fondren, and his granddaughter Robin Nicole Fondren. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Saloma Joyce Fondren; his sons Don Fondren and spouse Kristin, Gary Fondren, Charles and spouse Rosalind and Matt Fondren and spouse Naomi; one daughter Kim Guglielmo and husband Nick; his brother Earl Ray Fondren; his sister Patricia Messerschmidt; his grandchildren Nathan Fondren, Ryan Fondren, Zach Fondren, Ashley Wade, Sierra Wade, Naibi Fondren, Colton Fondren, Kimberly Arnold, and Bradley Walker; his great grandchildren Eliana Fondren, Cecily Fondren, Dalton Fondren, Aurora Arnold and Eli Mae Arnold; along with numerous family and friends who will miss him dearly. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Chandler Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.parksbrothers.net.
