Dolores Jeneva Greene Brown Loudermilk

Dolores Jeneva Greene Brown Loudermilk, Harrah, OK, age 79, was born on July 6, 1930, in the New Hope community southwest of Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Henry & Elsie Greene. She departed this life on Wednesday, August 5, 2009, in Oklahoma City, OK. Dolores was raised in the New Hope community and the New Hope Baptist Church. She became a Christian when she was 9 years old and was baptized in Grandpa Melton's pond in 1939. She graduated from Shawnee High School and the University of Oklahoma with a master's degree in library science. She married R. B. Brown in 1951 and Edwin Loudermilk in 1963. Dolores worked 35 years in a variety of libraries – public schools, colleges and federal libraries. She retired from Harrah Public Schools in 1986 and from the VA Medical Library in 1992. Dolores lived the last years of her life in Harrah and called Harrah her home. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the First Baptist Church of Harrah. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edwin, 2 sons, 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Survivors include 2 daughters, Debra & her husband, Louis Harrison, Harrah, OK, Brenda Halbert, Yukon, OK; son, Freeman Loudermilk, Indiana; brother, Melton Greene & his wife, Laura, Columbus, KS; 10 grandchildren & spouses, Tammy & Gary Neal, Indiana, Lauren Ross, Harrah , Jessica, Doni & Katie Harrison, Harrah, Nathan Loudermilk, Elk City, Daniel & Charity Thomas, Yukon, Tom & Travis Loudermilk, Indiana, Josh Watson, Choctaw; 5 great-grandchildren, Whitney, Cheyane, Dakota, Addyson, Conner and many other relatives and friends Services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 8, 2009, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Doug Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
