Dennis Eugene Vos, long time resident of Prague and local John Deere employee, entered his heavenly home on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the age of 73 years. He was born on July 1, 1947 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to John H. and Alma J. (Rus) Vos. Dennis grew up in Pella, Iowa and graduated from Pella Christian High School in 1965. After high school, Dennis entered the United State Air Force and served our country. During his time of service, he was stationed in Korea, Puerto Rico and Altus Air Force Base in Altus, Oklahoma. While living there, he met and married the love of his life, Veryl Irene Nipper on March 27, 1970 and celebrated 50 years of marriage to her this year. The couple moved to Prague in December of 1970, where they have made their home ever since. Dennis was lovingly known to his family as “Pops”. He was always supportive of his children and grandchildren in whatever they attempted, wherever they journeyed and whenever they needed him. Dennis was a dedicated, long time member of the First Baptist Church of Prague. He was known for his hard work and dedication to his family as well as his customers. For the past 50 years, Dennis was employed at the local John Deere dealership, Grissom Implements and later P & K Equipment. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Alma J. Vos; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Howard and Lorene Nipper. He is survived by his loving wife Veryl, three children: Kimberly and Chuck Terry of Walters, Ok; Jana and Jimmy Goodnight of Prague, Ok; Andrew and Casie Vos of Enid, Ok. Grandchildren: Dylan & Jennifer Terry, Delanie, Hawk and Cannon of Seneca, Mo; Cheyanne Terry & Darail Taulton of Spencer, Ok; Logan Terry of Prague, Ok; Jalyn & Jaxcyn Goodnight of Prague, Ok; Ruger & Remington Vos of Enid, Ok; one brother, Steve & Bev Vos of Jackson, TN; two sisters, Cheri & Peter Rozendaal of Pella, Ia; Debie & Pete Seiler of Riverside, Ca; sisters-in-law, Donnia & Chuck Utsler of Pocasset, Ok; Jerrye Nipper of Prague, Ok. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will be missed by many until we join him in heaven.
