Dennis Lee Rackley

Dennis Lee Rackley, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident, was born on December 17, 1928, in Jacktown, Oklahoma, and departed this life on May 23, 2005, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years. Dennis was the son of Dennis Henderson and Grace Jane Brewer Rackley. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Dennis married Betty Mattheyer in Ada, Oklahoma, on June 21, 1948. He played semi-pro baseball for the Ada Herfords, in Ada, Oklahoma, and received a $150.00 signing bonus. Dennis retired from the Midland Oil Refinery in Cushing, Oklahoma, and was a foster dad to numerous children. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chandler. His parents, three brothers and three sisters preceded Dennis in death. Survivors include, Wife: Betty of the home, Two sons: Paul Rackley of Durant, OK, Mark Rackley of San Antonio, TX, One daughter: Cindy Rackley Van Sickley of Colorado Springs, CO, One sister: Norma Jean Murray of Tulsa, OK, Ten grandchildren, Six great-grandchildren, Numerous foster children and nieces and nephews, Other relatives and many friends.
