Della F. Garner

Della Faye Garner, Harrah, OK, age 91, was born on September 28, 1920, in Cheney, Washington. She was the daughter of Solomon W. & Vesta V. (Ogdon) Conner. She left this life on Monday, December 12, 2011, in Harrah, OK. Della married Arthur F. Garner on September 4, 1942, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was a member of the Harrah United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She taught Sunday School for the 4th & 5th grade for over 30 years and worked at the Harrah Methodist pre-school for several years. Della took care of the roses at the Methodist Church for over 30 years. She was past president of the Women's WSCS. Della was a cook at the Dairy Boy in Harrah for over 15 years. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers, watching birds & butterflies and taking care of and reading to her grandchildren. Della was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers & 2 sisters. She is survived by 3 sons & daughters-in-law, Art Garner, Miami, OK, Ray & Cheryl Garner, Harrah, OK, Larry & Jan Garner, Moore, OK; daughter, Sarah Sue Barnard, Harrah, OK; special niece, Joetta Conner, Harrah, OK; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 15, 2011, at the Harrah United Methodist Church, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Randy Little officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
