Delbert Dewayne Henderson was born to Johnie and Elsie (Churchwell) Henderson in Newalla, Oklahoma on July 8, 1942. He passed peacefully from this life March 18, 2017. He grew up in Newalla where he lived all his life and graduated from McLoud High School in 1960. At an early age Delbert accepted Christ as his Savior and faithfully served Him throughout his life. Delbert learned the meaning of hard work at the early age of 11 taking responsibility for a herd of registered Hereford cattle. Delbert was married to Dolly (Self) for 52 years and shared many wonderful memories raising their family. Delbert, Dolly and family traveled to many states showing cattle and received many awards. Delbert and Dolly established D&D Feed and managed and owned it for 46 years. Delbert was deeply involved in 4-H and FFA. Years ago he canvassed the businesses of Harrah soliciting donations to establish the first Booster Club of Harrah which remained active for several years. About four years ago he repeated the same process as the original Booster Club had ceased. Delbert served as president of the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery for several years. He was a member of the Oklahoma & National Gelbvieh Association and a lifetime member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association.
