David Wayne Sokolowski

David Wayne 'Dave' Sokolowski, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born June 4, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, and departed this life on August 19, 2017, in Chandler, at the age of 57 years. David was the son of Richard and Theresa (Shepski) Sokolowski. At the time of his passing, he was working as a Deputy for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department, and was the co-owner of Energy Security Services. While living in the Tulsa area, Dave owned and operated Gingiss Formalwear and Black Tie Limousine Company, he also worked for the Tulsa County Sheriff office for 16 years. Dave was a member of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Association, Oklahoma Sheriff's Association, and the Fraternal Order of Police. His hobbies included going on cruises, camping, going to the gun range, and collecting classic cars, having owned more than 100. Dave was a huge Chicago Cubs fan. He loved spending time with his friends and family. Dave truly loved all people, and was a very optimistic person, always thinking of the glass half full. He found the love of his life, and the person that completed him, Marilyn, they married on October 22, 2016, in Mt. Vernon, Virginia. David is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two daughters, Julie Scott and husband Jeff, Michelle Sokolowski and partner Patrick; step children Jillian and Colton; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Adison; two sisters, Janet Grantham and Kathleen Englert; Nephews Nicholas, Ryan, and Jonathan; Nieces Jennifer and Sarah. His parents, one daughter, Mary, and one brother, Rob preceded David in death. Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 24, 2017, 10:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church in Davenport, Oklahoma, with Pastor Keith Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
