David Leon Murdock, 80, a resident of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday May 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. David was born on March 2, 1941 to Court and Mary (Irwin) Murdock in Meeker, Oklahoma. He grew up in the Shawnee, Oklahoma area and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1959. After the completion of his education, David served our country for 2 years in the United States National Guard and in the United States Navy for 4 years where he received the Good Conduct Medal for his service. On October 24, 1960, David married Marilynn Rees at Blackburn Chapel, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Together David and Marilynn raised their three daughters, Mary, Suzy, and Sharlene. He worked for Tinker Air Force Base in the heating and air department for 30 years retiring in 1990. David raised cattle and was a farmer. He also enjoyed fishing, collecting coins, gardening, and was known for making his own tomato juice. More than anything, David loved and took great care of his girls, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who he especially liked to lovingly tease. David was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Prague. David was preceded in death by his parents, Court and Mary Murdock and a son-in-law, Steve Binkley. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Marilynn Murdock of Prague; his daughters, Mary Friend and husband, Jerry of Prague, Suzy Binkley of Enid, Ok., and Sharlene Romano and husband, Tony of Florida, and Robyn Brooks of Oregon; Grandchildren, Kristy Rosser, Jerad Friend, Randi Engledow, Mikela Binkley, Julie Guedry, Joseph Romano, and Tabitha Binkley; Great-Grandchildren, Rosalie Friend, Gavin Engledow, Guinevere Friend, and Joseph Engledow; as well as a host of other extended family members and friends.
