Obituary: David Gerald Waner David Gerald Waner of Chandler, OK passed on Monday, March 23, 2020 in Chandler, OK at the age of 75. David Gerald Waner was born on June 9, 1944 in Guthrie, OK. He was the son of Gerald Gilbert and Mary Pearl (Simpson) Waner. He grew up in Oklahoma City attending Oklahoma City Public Schools, following his graduation he entered the United States Air Force serving during Vietnam. Following his discharge, he moved to Tulsa for a short time and then West Palm Beach Florida where he met Dorothy Jane Weigand. They married in November of 1978. They made their home in West Palm Beach. He was an Aircraft Mechanic for several years and later ran his own airline mechanic company, “Waner Aviation”. In 2000 they moved to the family farm in Chandler where he became a rancher. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Chandler. He enjoyed fishing and loved ranching with his wife, Dottie and daughter, Amanda, and her spouse J.J. and grandson, James. On November 21, 2016 Dorothy preceded his death and he continued to make Chandler his home. He was also preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his four children; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and other family and friends. A private family burial at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler, Oklahoma will take place with a Memorial Service pending at a later date.
