David Frank Kelsay of Meeker, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at OU Medical Center in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years. David Frank Kelsay was born on April 18, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the son of Col. Clyde Bruce and Margaret Katheryn (Little) Kelsay. As a small boy his father was in the Air Force and he grew up in various states and countries. Following high school, he furthered his education by receiving his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Vanderbilt University. Following his education, he entered the United States Army. He served in Korea, obtained the rank of Major and was discharged honorably. Following his discharge, he returned to Vanderbilt University and received a master’s degree in Education. Afterwards he began his career at Peterbilt Motors and later transferred to General Motors in Oklahoma City retiring as a Senior Engineer in 2005. On December 26, 1979 he married Jean Padgett in Nashville, Tennessee. They made their home in Meeker, Oklahoma. Later in life he purchased a Plane and loved to pilot. He enjoyed reading and was an avid historian. He traveled to numerous museums and historical places. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Meeker serving as an Elder for many years. Survivors include his wife Jean P. Kelsay of Meeker, Oklahoma; one son, Dray Morgan of Las Vegas, Nevada; one daughter, Lori Fenemore and husband Paul of Meeker, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Shelby, Kimi, Jonathan, Grant, Taylor, Preston and Mason; three great grandchildren, Allie, Alan and Brooklyn. Memorial donations can be made to the Jimmy Everest Center for Cancer at OU Children’s Hospital by going to www.chfkids.com/jecc-donation. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the First Presbyterian Church in Chandler, Oklahoma officiated by Pastor Bruce Newby with burial to follow at the Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
