Darrell Miranda

Darrell Miranda was born on June 8, 1931, in Gould, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at his home in Chandler, Oklahoma, at the age of 79. Darrell, the son of James George and Hattie Oakley (Mathis) Miranda, was a long-time resident of Chandler. He married Nantie Joyce Stout on December 1, 1952 in Elk City. She preceded him in death on September 5, 2003. Darrell was in management with Hudiburg Chevrolet and Broadway Ford until his retirement and attended Bible Missionary Church. His parents, two brothers, one sister, and one son also preceded Darrell in death. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, James David and Shirley Miranda of Porum, Phillip Mark and Teri of Arcadia; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Mike Kilby of Gainesville, VA; brother, Ernest Orvill Miranda of Altus; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The Miranda family will receive friends at Parks Brothers Funeral Home on Friday evening, January 28, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 10:30 AM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Pastor Robert Wonn officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery in Shawnee.
