Darrell Gene Burgess

Darrell Gene Burgess was born on October 23, 1936, in Modesto, CA, and departed this life on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, in Chandler, OK, at the age of 71. Darrell, the son of Earl F. and Laura V. Thompson Burgess, was a resident of Sparks, OK. He married Elizabeth Jane Gormley on October 10, 1957, in Chandler, OK. Darrell worked many years as a pressman for the Oklahoma Publishing Company. He was of the Baptist faith. His parents and one sister, Sharon; preceded Darrell in death. Survivors include, Wife, Elizabeth Jane of the home, Three sons, Darren J. Burgess of Midwest City, OK, Scott A. Burgess of Edmond, OK, Michael A. Burgess of Norman, OK, Brother, Jimmy Dale Burgess of Glen Rose, TX, Sisters, Della F. Thompson of Glen Rose, TX, Earlyne A. Schmult of Glen Rose, TX, 2 grandchildren, Jordan & Jacob. Other relatives and many friends. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 5, 2008, with Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
