Danny Paul Calger

Danny Paul Calger was born on August 9, 1952, in Mesa, Arizona, and departed this life on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 59. Danny, the son of Acie and Velma (Barker) Calger, was a resident of Prague. He graduated from Seminole High School in 1970, and then earned an Associate Degree in Business from Cameron University. Danny married Mindy Smith on December 23, 1976 in Konawa. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1973 until 1993. Danny retired as a General's Aide attached to General Glen Reimer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Prague and loved spending time with his family, especially, his granddaughter, Baylee. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Survivors include wife, Mindy Calger of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Paul and Angela Calger of Prague, Brad E. Smith of Prague; granddaughter, Baylee Calger of Prague; brothers and sister-in-law, Jim and Lonnie Calger of Eufaula, Donnie Calger and his fiance', Carmen of Purcell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Donald Bebout of Wayne, Marilyn and Richard Raines of Purcell, Barbara Townsend of Purcell, Wanda Sturmon of Purcell, Shirley Harris of Arkansas, Sue and Thomas Harris of Wewoka, Judy Calger of Seminole, Jane Calger of Seminole, Bertie and Alan Harris of Seminole; many other relatives and friends. The Calger family will receive friends on Thursday, August 25, 2011, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 2:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
