Curtis Ray Fipps was born on May 31, 1969, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Sunday, June 9, 2013, in Paden, Oklahoma, at the age of 44. Curtis, the son of Corky and Skeet (Muncy) Fipps, was a life-long resident of Paden. He graduated from high school in 1987. Curtis enlisted in the United States Army in July 1999 and served three years before being transferred to the US Army Reserve. While serving in the Reserve, Curtis joined the Oklahoma National Guard and was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Following an honorable discharge, Curtis was employed by the State of Oklahoma as a drywall specialist. His grandparents and one sister, Sheila, preceded Curtis in death. Survivors include his parents, Corky and Skeet Fipps of Paden; daughters, Brooklynn Fipps of Paden and Denver Fipps of Paden; brother, Scott Fipps of Shawnee; aunts and uncles, Geary and Donna Fipps, Sam and Verna Fipps, Cricket and Lynn Short; other relatives and many friends. The Fipps family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 2:00 PM, at First Assembly of God in Prague with Rev. Kevin Wehrli officiating. Interment will follow at the Paden Cemetery.
