Cora Nell Eastep

Cora Nell (Quary) Eastep, long-time resident of Paden, was born on October 25, 1944, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 73. Cora attended school in Prague, attended cosmetology school, and worked at J&C Roofing. She was married to Jim Eastep. Cora was a member of the Paden Freewill Baptist Church for over 30 years and taught Sunday School for many of those years. She also attended the Holiness Church. Cora enjoyed crocheting, fishing, shopping, cooking, singing, and listening to gospel music. Most of all, Cora loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Cora’s parents, Sid Quary and Myrta Quary; brothers, Henry Quary, D.C. Quary, John L. Quary, Ed Quary and Calvin Quary; sisters, Margaret Cochran, Norma Austin, Letha Holder and Mary Prater; son-in-law, Tommy Grounds; and great-grandson, Jaxxon Allen preceded Cora in death. Survivors include her husband, Jim Eastep of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Curtis Lee of Paden, Brenda and Brett Allen of Paden, Sandy Grounds of Paden; brothers, Frank Quary of Stroud, Benny Quary of Prague sister, Pearl Swinford of Prague; grandchildren, Andy McCaslin, Tisha Hayes, Shane Allen, T.J. Grounds, and Kennedy Harjo; great-grandchildren, Trystan McCaslin, Carly McCaslin, Breeana Hayes, Sawyer Hayes, Josie Nell Hayes, Jarrett Hayes, Jaxxi Allen, Cayson Allen, Frankie Jo Allen, Fern Allen, Zofia Allen, Ellinore Allen Joshua Grounds, Bella Grounds, and Melodee Harjo and numerous other relatives and friends. The Eastep family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague. Funeral services will be held on, Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM, at the Freewill Baptist Church in Paden with Pastor Bryan Logan officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Paden. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
