Clyde Johnny Heinzig was born was born in the township of Old Dent, near Prague on August 19, 1920 and departed this life in Prague on May 27, 2007. He was 86 years of age. Clyde was the son of John and Myrtle Mobley Heinzig. Clyde proudly served his country in the Unites States Army, 84th Infantry Division Railsplitters during World War II in Central Europe. He was honorably discharged on January 1, 1946. On October 27, 1949 he re-enlisted for duty in Korea and attained the rank of Staff Sgt., Chief Section, Artillery. He was honorably discharged on October 28, 1952. His decorations and citations included the WWII Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct, American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater, 3 Bronze Service Stars and Bronze Star Medal, Marksman 30 Caliber Carbine, Korean Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars. He retired from U. S. Naval Ordnance Test Station, China Lake, CA where he was Ordnanceman, Head of Operations, Projectile Range Division, Rocket Test. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include one son, John G. Heinzig, Chandler, Arizona; one sister and brother in law,Lavonne and Ledoy Dukes, Prague; one brother and sister in law, Harold and Bonnie Heinzig, Yukon, OK; several nieces and nephews.
