Clyde D. Matherly, a life-long Stroud, Oklahoma, resident, was born in Shamrock, Oklahoma, on November 8, 1927, and departed this life in Stroud, on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at the age of 78 years. Clyde was the son of Roy Frank and Ethel May Bowman Matherly. He served in the United States Navy in World War II. Clyde worked in the oilfield and was of the Baptist Church. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters. Survivors include, one son, Luke Matherly of Louisburg, KS; four daughters, Debbie Stephens of Merriam, KS Dana Brown of Pratt, OK, Donnie Wyant of Tulsa, OK, Shirley Sadler of Cushing, OK , one brother, Lawrence Matherly of Drumright, OK, two sisters, Pauline Morris of Drumright, OK, Deloris Newport of Sand Spring, OK, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, others relatives and friends.
