Clarence "Sam" Spaid

March 27, 1939 — June 8, 2017

Sam Spaid, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born March 27, 1939, in Pierre, South Dakota, and passed from this life on June 8, 2017, at his home near Chandler, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years. Sam was the son of Lester Clarence and Alice E. Anna( Wester) Spaid. He married Clarene Hodge on August 12, 1961. He served in the United States Army from 1956 till 1959 then went to work for the FAA as a Environmental Specialist. His parents and one son Todd Steven Spaid preceded Sam in death. Survivors include his wife, Clarene Spaid of the home. One daughter, Karen Denise Spaid of Chandler. Three brothers, Samuel Spaid, Thomas Edward Spaid and Louis LeRoy Spaid. Two sisters, Catherine Maria Sulze and Erma Lois Magee. Five grandchildren, Chaunda Alaine Ford, Rance Stephen Spaid, Rae Dawnyel Spaid, Nicole Alisa Spaid and Michael Perry Melis. One great grandson, Casen. Many nieces and nephews and many friends and relatives. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Davenport, Oklahoma with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
