Clara Ethel Pinkston was born on February 26, 1933, in Meeker, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 75. Ethel, the daughter of Jesse B. and Fannie Mae Wood Bowen, was a longtime resident of Meeker. She attended Whiterock and Meeker Schools. She graduated from Meeker High School with the class of 1951. During her work career, Ether was employed by Sylvania, Tinker Air Force Base, and in 1990 retired from Allen-Bradley. She grew up in the Union Methodist Church in Jacktown and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Meeker. Ethel''s family was the joy of her life. She especially loved to have her grandchildren around her and loved to tell them stories. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Randy Wayne; sister, Rosemary Boatner; and brothers, James 'Shorty' Bowen and William Clyde Bowen. Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Debbie and Steve Coy of Bethel, Ronda Eck of Tecumseh; five grandchildren, Deven, Casey, and Eric Coy, Brandon and Heather Eck; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys Leveridge of Sulphur, Ann and Carl Miller of Shawnee, Helen and Layton Pinkston of Bethel, Kathryn and Ray Gomez of Blanchard, Carolyn and Jerry Woody of Meeker, and Sue Bowen of Shawnee; brother, Robert L. Bowen of Shawnee; sisters-in-law, Nell Bowen of Harrah, Lola Bowen of Vancouver, WA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
