Chester Lee Peterson

Chester Lee Peterson, 70, of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on September 16, 2019 in Oklahoma City. Chester was born on October 19, 1948 in Oklahoma City. He was the son of Leroy WIlliam and Dorothy (Dean) Peterson. He was one of eight children. Chester grew up in and graduated from high school in Oklahoma City. Following his high school graduation, Chester enlisted to service his country, with the United States Navy. Following his Naval service, Chester spent many years working in the oil fields. On December 5, 1973, Chester married Linda Kay Gregory in Gainsville, Texas. The couple met at Dairy Cup in Seminole. Linda was working there at the time and his first words to her were "when are you going to marry me." The two were happily married for nearly 46 years. The couple raised two boys and enjoyed fishing and taking many family vacations together. Chester was an avid football and wrestling fan. He never missed an OU football game but he was not picky on who was playing. It football was on, you would find Chester tuned in to the television. Chester was a man of few words, unless you were discussing football. He had a great sense of humor and was easy going and everyone enjoyed his company. Chester was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Kay Peterson; two sons, CD Self and his wife Sierra and Joshua Peterson; six grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carolyn Debter and her husband Dean; sister-in-law, Teresa Conyers; brother-in-law, Rocky Gregory and wife; brother-in-law, Tommy Freeze and wife Margaret; niece Toni Crabtree and husband Jeff; nephew, Mike Debter and wife Deanne and several great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2019 at 2:00 PM. The service will be held at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague. Service are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.
