Charles Wilburn Parker

Charles Wilburn Parker was born on October 14, 1926, in Pitcher, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 85. Charles, the son of Jack John and Edith Marie (Young) Parker, was a resident of Antlers. He lived in Stroud as a child and moved to California as a teen. He married Ruby Simmons in 1946. Charles retired from Tinker AFB where he was a sheet metal worker. Following his retirement, he moved to Antlers. Charles loved to hunt and fish. His parents; one brother, John Parker; and one sister, Saundra Thompson, preceded Charles in death. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ruby Parker of the home; son, Jerry Kevin Parker of Oklahoma City; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Carolyn Parker of Visalia, CA; brother-in-law:Lawrence Allen Simmons of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Julie Parker of Visalia, CA; and everal nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague. Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery with George Battey officiating.
