Charles Rikard

Charles 'Chuck' Rikard was born on August 17, 1931, in Derring, MO, and departed this life on Monday, October 20, 2008, in Shawnee, OK, at the age of 77. Charles, the son of Charles Sr. and Clatie White Rikard, was a resident of Sparks, OK. Charles served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After his military retirement, he worked as a truck drive for many years. He married Clara Casteel on January 8, 2001, in Hartville, MO. Charles served as Cheif Justice for the Chickamauga Cherokee Nation of Missouri and Arkansas for several years before being appointed Cheif in February of this year. Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sparks. His parents, one daughter, four sisters and two brothers preceded Charles in death. Survivors include, Wife, Clara of the home, Sons, Rick Rikard of Branson, MO, Charlie Rikard of Springfield, MO, David Rikard of Wichita, KS, Daughter, Nancy Davis of Abilene, KS, Brother, Jerry Rikard of Hartsville, KS, Sister, Alice Butterfield, Nixa, MO, 9 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends. The family will be receiving visitors at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 10:00 A.M., at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, OK, with Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at White Dove Cemetery in Sparks, OK. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
