Charles Lee Franks

Charles Lee Franks Jr. of Oklahoma City, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 77. Charles was born on Saturday, November 11, 1944, in Frederick, Oklahoma. Charles was the son of Charles Lee Franks Sr. and Mary Opal (Jones) Phea. He was raised in Frederick, graduating from Frederick High School.

After high school, Charles joined his family in Oklahoma City. Shortly after, he proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. Charles served for four years, stationed out of Corpus Christi, Texas. He sailed on the USS Forrestal, a super carrier. While in service, he was photographed along with his crew mates, in Life Magazine.

Following his service in the United States Navy, Charles, returned home and went to work. He spent some time working at Maclanburg-Duncan, where he met his Betty
