Charles Hanford 'Hank' Hackworth was born on September 23, 1917, in Pocahontas, AR, and departed this life on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at his home in Carney, OK, at the age of 93 years. Hank, the son of Noah and Della (Sadler) Hackworth, was a long-time resident of Carney. He married Esther Davis on October 14, 1939, in Chandler. Hank worked as a mechanic in and around Carney for many years. He was a charter member of the First Assembly of God Church in Carney. His parents, wife of 64 years, Esther; and four sisters preceded Hank in death. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Melvin Gilliam of Carney, OK, one grandson and his wife Lonnie & Terri Gilliam of Chandler, OK, one sister & brother-in-law, Ina & Wilford Boling of Lindsay, OK, one brother & sister-in-law, Don & Faye Hackworth of Agra, OK. Several nieces, nephews, many friends, and one special companion his dog Princess. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at the First Assembly of God Church in Tryon, OK, with Rev. Lorn Starling officiating. Burial will follow at Carney Cemetery in Carney. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, OK.
