Charles Degraffenreid was born on January 29, 1944, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 70. Charles, the son of Elmer Charles and Juanita (Walkin) Degraffenreid, was a resident of Shawnee. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was the founder of the original Boomarang Diner located in Muskogee. His parents and two brothers, Elmer and Ernest, preceded Charles in death. Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Meredith Degraffenreid of Shawnee, Steve and Kristina Degraffenreid of Shawnee and Pat Degraffenreid of Shawnee; daughter, Angie Degraffenreid of Wichita, KS; grandchildren,Dillon, Brock, Madison, Luke, Stephen, Chris, Dustin, Dakota and Anna; great grandchildren, Berkley, Brayson and Allena; brothers, Denver and John; sisters, Barbara and Betty; other family and friends. A memorial tribute will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at the Boomarang Diner in Shawnee (400 W. MacArthur) from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. There will be an additional memorial tribute on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at the Boomarang Diner in Muskogee (4010 W. Okmulgee) from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Both tributes will be non-formal, come and go events. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
