Cecil Davis

Cecil Davis was born on February 13, 1924, north of Paden, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, in Prague, OK, at the age of 86. Cecil, the son of Charlie George and Julia Emmaline (Orsburn) Davis, was a resident of Paden all of his life. He attended Paden and Prague schools. He married Mary F. Almon on May 29, 1951, in Seminole, Oklahoma. Cecil was a well known and successful farmer and rancher in the Paden and Prague areas. He was an active member of the Burnett Mission Church in Paden, served many years on the Okfuskee County Fair Board, was one of the founding members of Paden Young Farmers Association, was president of the Okfuskee County Farmers Union, and a long-time member of the ASCS Board of Okfuskee County. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters. Survivors include his wife of 59 years,Mary Davis of the home in Paden; sons & daughters-in-law, Ronald and Myrtle Davis of Paden, Benny and Sara Davis of Paden; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Charles Cook of Paden; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren;sisters, Marie Wilkins of Yukon, Clarice Stone of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Mrs. Cleo (Jane) Davis of Prague. The Davis family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM, at the Burnett Mission in Paden with Bro. Paul Heard officiating and Bro. Starland Davis assisting. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Paden. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
