Carroll Clarkson, Chandler, Oklahoma resident was born August 23, 1931, in Chandler, Oklahoma, and departed this life on February 3, 2018, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years. Carroll was the son of Joe and Ruth (Kalka) Clarkson. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1949. Carroll married Paulene Yancey on July 5, 1953, in Chandler. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, being stationed at the Panama Canal Zone. Carroll attended Oklahoma State University and later graduated from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer in the oil industry for many years. Carroll was a member of the Davenport Masonic Lodge, and the Oklahoma Cattleman's Association. He loved spending time with his family and ranching. His hobbies included, bowling, golfing, cheering for the Oklahoma State Cowboys, traveling, and listening to music. His parents, Joe and Ruth Clarkson; one brother, Marvin Clarkson; and two sisters, Bernice Cansler, and Charlotte Kerr; preceded Carroll in death. Survivors include, his wife of 64 years Paulene of the home; one son, Binkley Clarkson of Chandler; one sister, Lettie Jo Jenkins of Mesquite, Texas; two grandchildren, Lacey Clarkson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Tyler Clarkson of Stillwater, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association at donatenow.heart.org Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 5, 2018, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler with Jerry Bender officiating. Burial will follow at Star Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
