Carolyn Sue Norman

Carolyn Sue Norman was born on April 9, 1941, in Sparks, OK, and departed this life on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at her home at the age of 70 years. Sue, the daughter of Clyde and Flossie (Jordan) Shaffner was a long-time resident of Davenport, OK. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1959. Sue married Thurman Norman on August 26, 1959, at the Davenport First Baptist Church. She worked many jobs, including running a dairy farm, postal worker, mom and grandmother. Sue was a member of the Davenport First Baptist Church. Her parents, one son, Jeffrey and one great-grandson, Hunter Kirby preceded Sue in death. Survivors include husband Thurman of the home, one son Patrick Norman of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Martin Kirby of Chandler, OK, Debbie and Kevin Terronez of Chandler, five grandchildren, Kristen Eversole of Stroud, Michelle Terronez of Edmond, OK, Heather Bilodeau of Edmond, OK, Jennifer Dingman of Stroud, OK, Jeffrey Terronez of Chandler, two great-grandchildren Bryson Dingman and Mason Eversole, one brother Bill Shaffner of Choctaw, OK, three sisters, Phyllis Huff of Sparks, OK, Kay Cook of Stillwater, OK, Diana James of Stroud, OK, father-in-law and mother-in-law, C.T. and Ella Norman of Chandler, brother-in-law Jim Norman of Chandler, other relatives and many friends. Expression of sympathy may be made to Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, 3800 N. May Ave. OKC, OK 73112-6506, or to the Davenport First Baptist Church Building Fund. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 27, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Davenport with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Davenport Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, OK.
