Carmen Alice Hurst

Carmen Alice (Messer) Hurst was born on June 4, 1941 in Avery, OK and departed this life surrounded by family on April 20, 2022 in Tulsa, OK. Carmen was the daughter of the late William Levi and Thelma Lavone (Ash) Messer. She was the Salutatorian of the Kendrick class of 1959 where she was a star basketball player. Later she graduated at the top of her class with a Bachelors in Nursing from Tarrant County College. Carmen enjoyed studying the bible, reading books, spending time with family, and playing cards on Saturday nights with family & friends. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John Lee and Darrell Gene Messer, and one son Chuck Hurst. She is survived by daughter Michele (Jennifer) Hurst of Arlington, TX and daughter Kim (Will) Fine of Stroud OK; five grandchildren, Jennifer Holleman of Cushing, OK, Zachary Levi Holleman of Ft. Worth, TX, Emily (John) Martin, Dallas, TX, Jordan (Kristen) Fine OKC, OK, and Garrison Levi Moulton-Hurst, of Arlington, TX. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren Gage, Gavin, Noah, and ZuZu. Services will be held on Monday April 25, 2022 at 10:00AM at Stroud Christian Church by Pastor Will Fine with graveside service to follow.
