Carl James Whited, Jr., was born on December 15, 1961, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and went to his Heavenly home on Friday, February 24, 2012, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 50. Carl, the son of Carl James, Sr., and Marjorie May (Mauldin) Whited, was a resident of Shawnee. Carl graduated from Shawnee High School with the class of 1980 and attended vocational school. He married Angela Wilson on May 11, 1985 in Shawnee. Carl worked as a machinist and tool and die maker for 32 years. He began his trade at Worthington Pump in Shawnee in 1980 and subsequently worked for Dresser Rand in Denver, CO, Dresser Machinery Repair in Tulsa, Overton and Sons Tool & Die in Shawnee, and Chromalloy in Midwest City. He was very proud of his trade and valued the friendships he made with his co-workers. He strived to teach his kids the value of hard work and integrity. Carl was a long-time member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. His mother preceded Carl in death. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Angela Whited of the home; father, Carl James Whited, Sr. of Shawnee; son, James Aaron Whited of Shawnee; daughter, Emily Whited of Shawnee; grandson, Ethan Deadwiley; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Ed Dill of Shawnee; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10:00 AM, at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Shawnee with Bro. John Hancock officiating. Interment will follow at Johnson Cemetery in Shawnee.
