Carl Cecil Brown

Cecil Brown was born on July 11, 1920, in Okfuskee County, and departed this life on Friday, October 10, 2008, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. Cecil, the son of Andrew Michael and Rosa Angeline Whitley Brown, was a resident of Stroud. Cecil was married to Alta Mae Brown for 64 years and together they raised four children. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2007. He was a farmer, oilfield worker, and attended the Deer Creek Baptist Church. His parents, seven sisters, and one son, Johnnie, preceded Cecil in death. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Nancy Brown of Stroud; daughters and sons-in-law; brother and sister-in-law, Linda and Don Ahboah of Oklahoma City, Jane and John Davis of Prague, Morris and Katie Brown of Paden; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margrett and Sherman Clonts of Paden, Pauline Orr of Paden, Delores and L.T. Case of Paden; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 13, 2008, at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Mike Haines officiating. Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery in Prague.
