Candace Nicole Muzny

June 18, 1976 — February 17, 2020

Candace Nicole Muzny died, unexpectedly, in her home in Oklahoma City on February 17, 2020. Candace is survived by her parents, Al and Vanita, as well as her siblings, Cynthia, Christopher, and Lori. Her love also touched her nieces and nephews, Cynthia and Marc Gawronski’s children — Trevor and Ciara; Lori and Robert Johnston’s daughter — Mequette; Christopher and Christina Young’s children — Warren, Karenna, and Carter. In her younger years, Candace lit up the realm of NASCAR as a sparkplug of kinetic energy. Throughout her life, she strived for excellence and understood the true meaning of life — love of God and other people. Her inner beauty matched her stunning exterior. Prior to her admirable career successes, she attended Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School and graduated from Putnam City High School in 1995. After which, she earned her associates degree at the Art Institute of Dallas. She moved to Bakersfield, California after obtaining her degree to kickstart her racing dream that became a wonderful career. In Bakersfield, she met her fiancé, Del Dalrymple. Del was also a race car driver, and as luck would have it, met Candy when she rented his race car for the first trial in her race. Unfortunately, Del died of an aneurysm on Nov. 22, 2007, before they could get married. After Del’s death, Candace’s friend and sponsor, Jesse James commissioned her to continue her career in Morrisville, North Carolina. There, Candace’s gained a lifelong friend in her new crew chief, Tony Liberati. After an eventful time under Tony’s wing, L.W. Miller became her new crew chief, taking her to being ranked 7th in her league. When God guided Candace away from racing, she moved back to Oklahoma City to help her parents, Al and Vanita, and to help take care of the family business.
