Brian J. Geist was born on February 8, 1945, in Abington, Pennsylvania, and departed this life on Thursday, January 15, 2015, in McLoud, Oklahoma, at the age of 69. Brian, the son of James and Evelyn (Mascuich) Geist, was a resident of McLoud. He graduated from William Tennent High School in Southampton, PA, with the class of 1963. He proudly served his country serving 6 years in the United States Marine Corps and defended our country in the Vietnam War. Brian married Lorna Straw on July 20, 1968, in Olathe, Kansas. Brian enjoyed his chosen profession of being a diesel mechanic and carried it on in his free time as he was the pit chief on his son-in-law’s drag boat crew; he loved working on and with his tractor. He loved all things fast, whether it was dirt track racing, boat racing or taking his wave runners to Keystone Lake. Brian dearly loved 50’s music and his miniature schnauzer, Gus Gus, but the most important thing that Brian enjoyed was any minute that he was able to spend with his beloved wife, Lorna. Brian’s parents and two of his brothers, Jim and Edward, preceded him in death. Survivors include: his wife of 46 years, Lorna, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Deanna and Kevin Moore of Prague, Shawn Geist of Oklahoma City and Danielle and Robert Morphew of McLoud; grandchildren, Tim and Nicole Collins of Shawnee, Dale and Shai Moore of Prague, Kyle Moore of Prague, Shane Tackett of Oklahoma City, Joel Tackett of Mustang, Chad Tackett of Oklahoma City, Shelby and Bo Beal of Shawnee and Brielle Morphew of McLoud; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Raymond Geist of McLoud and many other family and friends. The Geist family has requested that donations be made on Brian’s behalf to CancerCare at www.cancercare.org or 275 Seventh Avenue, 22 Floor, New York, NY 10001-6708. The Geist family will receive friends on Sunday, January 18, 2015, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Faith Community Church of God in Shawnee with Bro. Tom Harrison officiating. Interment will follow at Dale Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
