Boyd Francis Gallaway

Boyd Francis Gallaway was born on June 24, 1938, in Meeker, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Thursday, September 8, 2011, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 73. Boyd, the son of Jesse Samuel and Mildred Maxine (Parrett) Gallaway, was a resident of Meeker. He married Ella Mae Stroud on November 24, 1959 in Tecumseh. Boyd proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from Tinker AFB where he worked as an electrician. Boyd was a member of the Meeker First Baptist Church and the McAlester Consistory of the Masonic Lodge. His hobbies included the R.C. Airplane Club, antique tractor restoration, and fishing. His father preceded Boyd in death. Survivors include his mother, Mildred Gallaway of Meeker; his wife, Ella Mae Gallaway of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Joella and Rick Sievert of Midwest City; grandson, Seth Carberry of Del City; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Carberry of Del City; brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Ruth E. Gallaway of Meeker; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Louise and Dale Kennedy of Meeker. Viewing and visitation will be the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker from 1:00 PM on Friday, September 9, until noon on Saturday, September 10. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM, at First Baptist Church in Meeker with Rev. Joe Jones officiating with Jerry Kuhn assisting. Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery in Meeker.
