Boyce Edwin Williams was born on May 3, 1922,, in Belmont, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Sunday, May 6, 2007, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 85. Boyce, the son of John Rube and Clarabel Daniel Williams, was a resident of Prague. He graduated from Prague High School with the class of 1940 and attended Southwestern State for two years. Boyce proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II during which time he was engaged in combat during the invasion of Kiska Island, Aleutians, and was in the major offensive against the German Gothic Line. Boyce was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He married Agnes Jones on January 5, 1944 in Shawnee. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in January. They lived in Bartlesville for several years. He retired from Eason Oil Company in Crescent in 1986 where he was the transportation manager and returned to Prague. Boyce was a member of the American Legion, a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge at Bartlesville, a member of the Akdar Shrine in Tulsa, and a member of the View of the Cross Church in Prague. His parents and one sister preceded Boyce in death. Survivors include his wife, Agnes Williams of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald S. and Joyce Williams of Amarillo, TX, Philip E. and Gail Williams of Lansing, MI, Keith and Angie Williams of Wagoner, OK; grandchildren, Chad, Renee, Heather, Kristen, Philip, Jr., Megan, and Katy; 5 Great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Gail and Betty Williams of Terrell, TX; sisters, Elnora Munn of Hawthorne, CA, Evelyn Branscum of Mantica, CA. The family will receive friends at Parks Brothers Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 8, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
