Bonnie M. Spitler was born in Prague, Oklahoma on June 3, 1928 and departed this life in Shawnee on July 30, 2004 at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 27 days. Bonnie was the ninth of eleven children born to Levi L. Lacquement and Lady Ethel Moore Lacquement. The family moved north of Paden, Oklahoma when Bonnie was still young where they owned and operated the Midway Grocery Store. In 1942 the family moved to Prague where they had relocated their business. For the next several years Bonnie worked as a clerk and cashier as well as assisted with the management of the grocery store owned by her father and brother, Lacquement Grocery located at the corner of Highland and Harrison Streets in Shawnee. She married Hugh F. Spitler on February 7, 1947 in Liberal, Kansas. She and Hugh made their home east of Meeker on the family farm until 1948 when Hugh accepted a position with Piccadilly Cafeterias, Inc. For the next thirty-four years he remained employed with Piccadilly and the family made their home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Houston, Texas, Phoenix, Arizona and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Following his retirement in 1979, Hugh and Bonnie moved to Shawnee. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband on December 13, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three adult brothers, two infant brothers and one sister. Survivors include one son & daughter in law, Kenneth & Nancy Spitler, Houston, TX; one daughter & son in law:Linda & Jim St. Onge, Sugar Land, TX; four sisters, Ruby Stewart, Oklahoma City, Nelda Smith, Prague,Ina Hiel, Muskogee, Faye Brown, Yucca Valley, CA; one sister in law, Eloita Sutterfield & her husband, Von, of Prague; four grandchildren, Matthew Spitler, Carrie Spitler, Jeffrey St. Onge, and Andrew St. Onge.
