Bobby James Buchanan

Bobby James Buchanan of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed away on June 21, 2021 at the age of 91. Bobby was born on February 27, 1930 in Lampasas, Texas. He was the son of Staley and Clyde (Gwinns) Buchanan. He attended grade school in Swinney Switch, Texas and high school in Beville, Texas. Bobby was known for his hard work ethic and his dry sense of humor. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He was proud of the work he did and put everything he had into it. He could always be counted on to do the job and to do it well. He was a caring man and had a great sense of humor. He made friends everywhere he went in life. Bobby was also a great father. He was devoted to all of his children and grandchildren. When Bobby wasn't working, you would often find him fishing, watching his beloved "cowboy movies" or enjoying a milkshake. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Betty Sleets and Mavis Buchanan; one son-in-law, Mickey Lovett; one granddaughter, Samantha Buchanan and five brothers, Roy Buchanan, Troy Buchanan, Alton Neal Buchanan, Lewis Ray Buchanan and Junior Buchanan. He is survived by his loving wife of over 41 years, Mary Buchanan of the home; five children, Larry Buchanan and his wife Lettie of Louisville, Kentucky, Billy Joe Buchanan and his wife Donna of Chandler, Connie Jacobs and her husband David of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Cindy Lovett of Purcell and Patricia Buchanan of Purcell and one brother, Mack Buchanan and his wife Diane. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
