Billy Thomas Smothers

Billy Thomas Smothers, Shawnee, OK, resident was born on December 7, 1940, in Tryon, OK, and departed this life September 11, 2012, in Shawnee, OK, at the age of 71 years. Billy was the son of James and Adielene (Butler) Smothers. He married Betty Harper, at Waldo, Arkansas, in 1959. Billy worked as a production supervisor for many years. He was a long-time member of the Shawnee Elks Lodge and New Hope Baptist Church in McNeil, Arkansas. His parents, and one sister, preceded Billy in death. Survivors include, his wife, Betty of the home, two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Dale and Thomaslene Smothers of Lewisville, AR, James Thomas and Michelle Smothers of Bethel Acres, OK. one daughter and son-in-law, Donna Kay and Mickey Toles, of Agra, OK, one brother, O.D. Smothers of Littlerock, AR, four sisters, Ethelene Baker of Kellyville, OK. Linda Howard, Agra, OK, Mary Sago, Cushing, OK, Cleta Pressley, Paris, AR, eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. A family gathering will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the home Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, OK.
