Billy Ronald Stewart

December 12, 1940 — October 8, 2020

Billy Ronald Stewart, passed away in Shawnee, Oklahoma on October 8, 2020, at the age of 79. Billy was born on December 12, 1940 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was the son of W.B. “Bill” and Ruth Mary (Loafman) Stewart. Billy grew up in the Econtucka Bottom and was a 1959 graduate of Centerview High School. Billy met Nancy “Lynn” Vickers at the swimming hole at Garrett’s Lake. Billy was playing baseball nearby while Lynn swam. The two were married on September 1, 1962 and were happily married until his death. Billy was a bricklayer by trade but was a farmer at heart. He loved to tend to his farm. He started farming while still working as a bricklayer. Upon retiring from his brick-laying job, Billy started farming full time. He grew anything and everything that would grow in the area. His nurturing didn’t stop with his crops and cattle, he also was an exceptional father and grandfather. If he wasn’t working on his farm, you would find him sitting in the stands or near the fence at one of the kids baseball or softball games. Billy was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Geneva Loveland and Sara Blocker Clayborn. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lynn Stewart; one son, Ronnie Stewart and his wife Deana; one daughter, Akita Stewart Casteel and her husband Joe; four grandchildren, Lane Stewart, Colton Stewart and his wife Shawnee, Taylor Casteel and Josh Casteel and his fiancé Bailey and one sister, Wanda Ross and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. In lieu of flowers, Billy’s family requests that donations be made to Garden Grove Cemetery of Prague.
