Billy Matthew Schuler passed away recently at his home in Harrah. He was born August 4, 1938, in Oklahoma City to Fred and Emma (Jilge) Schuler. Billy graduated from McLoud High School in 1957 and served in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Washington, where he enjoyed visiting the mountain areas of the Northwest, and in Florida during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. After returning to Harrah, Billy worked for Fred Jones and Bob Howard automobile dealerships in the Oklahoma City area. He retired after 34 years of service. For many years, Billy and his parents were members of the Harrah Methodist Church. The Church’s first building, known as “The Little White Church,” was built by Billy’s father Fred in 1933. Survivors include nieces Donna (Floyd) Moody of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Nancy Mitchell of Kent, Ohio; and Dianne Juby of Springfield, Missouri; and other members of his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Lorena Juby. Burial and remembrances will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015, at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery in McLoud, with Pastor Randy Little of the Harrah United Methodist Church presiding.
